“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith…”
Message
Strong trees survive storms because their strength is hidden beneath the surface.
Their roots go deep.
The same principle applies spiritually.
Your Christian life cannot survive on emotional experiences alone. Feelings change. Circumstances change. People change.
Christ does not.
To be rooted in Christ means developing a life grounded in His Word, prayer, obedience and relationship with Him.
Storms reveal roots.
When disappointment comes, where do you turn?
When temptation comes, what holds you?
When prayers seem unanswered, will you remain faithful?
God wants more than occasional encounters with you. He desires a deeply rooted relationship.
Declarations
I am rooted in Christ.
My faith will grow deeper.
I will not be controlled by circumstances.
God’s Word will become my foundation.
I will remain faithful through every season.
My roots in Christ are growing stronger.
Prayer
Lord, deepen my relationship with You.
Do not allow me to become satisfied with shallow Christianity.
Give me hunger for Your Word and desire for prayer.
Strengthen my roots so that when storms come, I remain standing.
Establish me in faith and teach me to walk daily with You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
