YOUR IDENTITY IS NOT YOUR PAST
Key Scripture
Philippians 3:13–14 (KJV)
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Message
There are things behind you that cannot accompany you into everything God has ahead of you.
Paul had a past. Before becoming one of Christianity’s greatest apostles, he persecuted believers.
Imagine the guilt he could have carried.
Yet Paul learned that although he could not change yesterday, he could surrender tomorrow to Christ.
Some memories must become testimonies rather than prisons.
You may remember what happened, but you do not have to continue living there emotionally.
Walking with Christ requires forward movement.
Learn from yesterday.
Repent where necessary.
Forgive where necessary.
Heal where necessary.
Then press forward.
God still has more ahead.

Declarations
My past will not imprison my future.
I am moving forward with Christ.
I release regret.
I receive God’s grace.
I will learn from yesterday without living in yesterday.
God still has purpose for my life.

Prayer
Father, help me release everything behind me that is preventing me from moving forward.
Heal painful memories and remove the weight of regret.
Where I need forgiveness, help me receive it. Where I need to forgive others, give me strength.
Help me focus on the calling ahead instead of constantly looking backwards.
I press forward today with Christ.
Amen.
