Have you become so familiar with your excuses that you now mistake them for wisdom?

Sometimes what we call wisdom is simply fear that has learned how to speak intelligently.

We say:
“It’s not the right time.”
“I need more preparation.”
“I’m waiting for clarity.”
“I’ll start when things settle down.”

And some of those reasons sound reasonable.

But not every reasonable thought is wisdom.

Sometimes it is avoidance wearing the clothes of wisdom.

The danger of repeated excuses is that they eventually stop sounding like excuses. They become part of our identity. We stop questioning them. We defend them. We build our lives around them.

Meanwhile, opportunities pass.
Relationships drift.
Dreams remain untouched.
Potential stays buried beneath explanations.

Wisdom helps you move at the right time.

Excuses help you remain where you are while feeling justified about it.

The question is not whether your reasons make sense.

The question is whether they are producing the life God is calling you to live.

What have you been calling wisdom that may actually be fear?
