ADOPTED INTO GOD’S FAMILY
Key Scripture
Romans 8:14–17 (KJV)
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption…”
Message
Christianity is more than following religious rules. Through Christ, we are brought into relationship with God.
We become His children.
The word adoption communicates belonging.
You are not merely tolerated by God. You have been welcomed into His family.
Perhaps earthly relationships have made the idea of family difficult. Some people have experienced abandonment, rejection or disappointment from those who should have loved them.
But God’s fatherhood is perfect.
He does not abandon His children.
He corrects, guides, provides, comforts and loves.
Knowing God as Father changes how we walk with Him. Prayer becomes more than religious obligation; it becomes conversation with our Father.
Worship becomes gratitude.
Obedience becomes an expression of love.
You do not have to approach God as someone desperately trying to earn a place in His family.
Through Christ, you belong.
Declarations
God is my Father.
I am His child.
I belong to the family of God.
Fear will not control my relationship with Him.
I am loved, accepted and guided by my Heavenly Father.
I will walk as a child of God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your family.
Teach me to understand what it truly means to be Your child.
Heal every wound that has distorted my understanding of love, trust or family.
Help me trust Your heart even when I do not understand Your ways.
Lead me by Your Spirit and teach me to live in a manner that reflects my identity as Your child.
Thank You for never abandoning me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
