FORGIVEN AND FREE
Key Scripture
Colossians 1:13–14 (KJV)
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”
Message
Forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts of the gospel.
Through Christ, we are not simply given another opportunity to try harder. We are redeemed.
The blood of Jesus paid the price for our sin.
Yet many believers accept God’s forgiveness intellectually while continuing to punish themselves emotionally.
Guilt whispers, “You should still be ashamed.”
Grace declares, “Jesus paid the price.”
True repentance means acknowledging sin and turning from it, but once we have sincerely brought our sin before God, we should not continue carrying condemnation that Christ has already carried for us.
Freedom does not give us permission to return to sin. Freedom gives us the ability to walk away from it.
Today, receive God’s forgiveness and choose freedom.
Declarations
I am redeemed through Jesus Christ.
I am forgiven.
Condemnation will not rule my mind.
The power of darkness has been broken over my life.
I belong to the kingdom of God.
I will walk in freedom and holiness.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the blood of Jesus and the forgiveness available through Christ.
I confess my sins before You and ask You to cleanse my heart.
Break the power of guilt, shame and condemnation over my mind.
Give me strength not only to receive forgiveness but also to turn away from the things that separate me from You.
Teach me to walk in holiness without forgetting grace.
Thank You for redeeming me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
