LIVING TO PLEASE GOD

Devotional Message
Many people spend their lives trying to please others. They seek approval, recognition, and acceptance from friends, family, coworkers, and society. While healthy relationships are important, living for the approval of people can become exhausting and spiritually dangerous.
As followers of Christ, our ultimate goal is to please God.
Living to please God does not mean striving for perfection. It means seeking His will above our own desires and choosing obedience even when it is difficult.
Jesus modeled this perfectly. Throughout His earthly ministry, He consistently sought to do the Father’s will. He was not controlled by public opinion, criticism, or praise. His focus remained on pleasing God.
When pleasing God becomes your priority, many distractions lose their power. You become less concerned with what others think and more concerned with what God thinks. You begin making decisions based on conviction rather than popularity.
God is not looking for flawless performance. He delights in hearts that sincerely desire to honor Him. Even small acts of obedience bring Him joy when they are done out of love.
Today, examine your motivations. Are your choices driven by God’s approval or by the opinions of others? Choose to live for the audience of One.

Declaration
I declare that my life belongs to God. My desire is to please Him in all I do. I will not be controlled by fear of people or the need for approval. God alone is my source of identity and validation. I choose obedience, faithfulness, and integrity as I seek to honor Him with my life.

Prayer
Lord, help me live for Your approval rather than the approval of others. Purify my motives and align my heart with Your will. Give me courage to obey You even when it is unpopular or difficult. Let every part of my life bring honor to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
